Ken Turner - Alternative Art Poster #39: "CHARLIE BROWN AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY"

Here is my Alternative Art Poster #39: "CHARLIE BROWN AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY"

I've been wanting to create another mash-up poster for awhile now and I came up with this idea on my trip to Edmonton last month.

I love when mashups create clever and fun characters all on their own like Charlie Brownbucket, The Woodstock Oompa Loompas and the owner of the chocolate factory Silly Snoopy.

Ken Turner - Alternative Art Poster #38: "WONDER WOMAN"

Here is my Alternative Art Poster #38: "WONDER WOMAN"

Since watching Wonder Woman twice in the theaters (once in IMAX 3D and once in normal 3D), it was one of the ones on the top my list to do as an alternative poster.  After a slight false start on the final approach, I was able to knock the color part out in the better part of a day.  I might make some variants, which I rarely do, but this may be one of the ones that can work.

Today is also the day Wonder Woman became the all-time domestic grossing superhero origin movie!

Read for Good Bookcase Illustrations

I recently finished some illustration work, that I'm really proud to share, which was a project for Read for Good via my UK agent Beehive Illustration.  Read for Good is a UK national charity with the mission to get children reading for fun.

http://readforgood.org/

A little more on who they are:

"Reading for pleasure is one of the best pathways out of poverty; those who read for fun as
a child are more likely to be successful in life, academically, socially and emotionally. But
reading for pleasure has a lot of competition in today’s world! Our aim is to provide kids
with the purpose to read, combined with complete freedom to choose what and how they
read, enabling them to discover their own pleasure in reading."

"In 30 UK hospitals, we provide a unique service which enables
children in an infection-controlled environment to choose a book
to borrow or take home from our specially designed mobile
bookcase that can move right up to a child’s bedside. Every six
weeks we refill it with the very best, brand new books for children
and young adults, and we send in a marvellous storyteller to
entertain and delight children and their exhausted families."

My illustration work now appears on the mobile hospital bookcase.

Ken Turner - Alternative Art Poster #36: "TROLLS"

Here is Alternative Art Poster #36: "TROLLS"

I wanted to make a Trolls poster as soon as I saw the movie last year but didn't get around to it until recently and finished it last weekend.

The poster will work from any rotation.  So it can work upside down or on either landscape views.

Last weekend I attended a comic-con like event called "Geequinox" where I had a table to sell my posters, prints and books. It was a fun event full of artists and vendors where I got some fun cosplay pics which I've attached to this post.
